Caroline holds a Masters in Education Studies of Visual Arts from Marino Institute
of Education, where her research concentrated on examining quality primary
visual art education from an Artist’s perspective.

My teaching philosophy is to
create an accessible platform for
all ages to engage with art and
art making.
I believe being exposed to and experiencing various art mediums and art processes develops important skill sets such as observation, expression and connection.Everyone in the art room contributes as a student, teacher and thinker.

F.A.Q Adult classes
Is the class suitable for beginners?

Yes the Adult art classes are designed for complete beginners.
What is covered in the classes?

We cover the basics of drawing, acrylic painting and watercolours.
Do I need to bring anything?

No all materials are supplied.
How long are classes?

Each class is 2 hours long with a tea/coffee break.
Where are the classes held?
-
All adult classes are held at the Dunamaise Arts Centre Portlaoise.
Do I get to keep the artwork?

Yes anything you make you take home.

Whats covered in the Art Clubs?

We cover each area of the primary school curriculum - drawing-painting-clay-fabric & fiber-construction. Its is a process led art class so the focus is on process over product, expression & creativity.
What do they need to bring?
-
Nothing all materials are provided. It can get messy so we advise no good clothing.
Do we get to keep the artwork?
-
Yes of course all art work created is given to the artists at the end of the term to take home.
What age group can attend Art CLub?
-
The clubs are divided into twp age groups - junior which is suitable for children who attend main stream school up to 7 years old. Then senior art club from ages 8years -13years.
